Jottings of Japan

Never really thought of myself as a blogger before... but it seems to be the trend of late, so I thought I'd give it a go. Apologies in advance for the boring content you will endure as I capture my life in size 10 Arial font (for the most part, anyway). So without further ado, Let's blogging!

Scare

Phew! Had a bit of a scare on Friday. I couldn't access my blog. At all. Kept saying access was forbidden. I could still access all my friends' blogs on blogspot but not mine. Was really worried my blog was gone forever. But it's not. It's back. :-)

Having a chilled Sunday in today. Had a work party on Friday night, went to Tokyo yesterday and met up with some mates I haven't seen in ages, and then got home around midnight. Slept until 11am today - can't remember the last time I did that. Was awesome.

Only one week of school left before Spring Vacation. Man it's gone fast.

Graduation

Yep, it's that time of year again. My 3nensei kids graduated on Monday.

This was my third time to sit through a Japanese JHS Graduation Ceremony. And to be honest, I'm glad it was my last. They are so long and drawn out, so solemn, so serious. Nothing like my graduation in Australia back in 1999.

But this year was special. I have taught these kids the entire time. They were 1nensei when I arrived. And over the three years, I have gotten to know these 20 kids pretty well.

Tuesday last week, we had the final English class. It was tough to say good bye, but I managed. We took a few photos at the end of class.

Now, even though there were only 20 of them, the school seems so empty and quiet. But life goes on.
