Jottings of Japan

Never really thought of myself as a blogger before... but it seems to be the trend of late, so I thought I'd give it a go. Apologies in advance for the boring content you will endure as I capture my life in size 10 Arial font (for the most part, anyway). So without further ado, Let's blogging!

Yukata Yokatta!

Last Saturday night saw the skies above Isesaki light up with 30000 fireworks over the space of one and a half hours. Summer festivals are a big thing in Japan, and many of the locals get all dressed up in Yukata and wander around the many stalls which sell everything from fried squid to crushed ice. Young J and I decided we would try to blend in as much as possible and wear our newly purchased yukatas to the festivities. A fun night was had by all. Thanks M for the photo.

Argh!

Yes yes! It's been ages since I've written here... and well, I'm going to say it again - I will DO MY BEST to keep this little ol' blog afloat. I promise. Though I seem to make that promise quite often...

Ok, so I am flat out at the moment preparing for YEC - Yamaha Electone Concours. The Tokyo Area Audition is on the 15th and 16th of September. 60 performers, and I'm number 20 on Day 2. The only foreigner in the list. Should be fun?! I hear that most of the other contestants are University students studying Electone... and then there is me, the ALT who plays Electone for fun. What a great contrast!

Anyway, I have today off so I should get back to practising.

Maybe see you all soon?!
